SS-07 · PHYSICAL DEVICE PROOF NEXT
Every shot, accounted for.
FieldProof keeps a photo pending until the bytes stored in the cloud match the photo captured in the field. Only then can the report call it safe.
An upload request is not proof.
A progress bar can finish while a file is missing, truncated, duplicated, or stranded. FieldProof keeps uncertainty visible and asks the server to verify the object it actually stored.
Camera URI enters the inspection
Durable app-owned file first
Resumable native background work
Server reads the stored object
Device, server, and object agree
Only then can the report trust it
Verified in the Android emulator. Real-camera and physical-device resilience remain explicit gates.
The shot already knows its place.
Capture from Foundations, Roofing, Electrical, or any inspection item. The photo arrives attached to its section and carries its own state instead of disappearing into a camera roll.
Structure the finding. Keep the judgment.
FieldProof separates defect, implication, and recommendation so a photo becomes a clear narrative. The draft is reviewable, the inspector owns the final language, and useful edits can return to the comment library.
AI belongs behind the inspector.Never between the inspector and the client.
Moisture staining at the northeast crawlspace beam.
- DEFECT
- Dark staining and elevated moisture were observed at the beam end.
- IMPLICATION
- Persistent moisture can accelerate wood deterioration and conceal active entry.
- RECOMMENDATION
- Have a qualified contractor identify the source and repair affected material as needed.
Mechanism proven. Field resilience next.
The hard software contract has passed deterministic Android emulator proof. The next job is not a prettier claim. It is real cameras, dead zones, backgrounding, and process death on the hardware inspectors actually carry.
Native capture path, durable local file, exact 6 MiB storage and three-way hash reconciliation.
Real camera, airplane mode, background resume, process death, retry, and exact stored-object proof.
Compile and exercise the native URLSession path on macOS and real iOS hardware.
Prove it beside the tool you already trust.
The first inspectors will run FieldProof in shadow mode, beside their current workflow. We will measure whether every shot is accounted for, how quickly it becomes safe after reconnection, and whether the drafted report needs less—not more—work.
The useful hard questions.
Is FieldProof ready for a live inspection?
Not yet. The Android capture and server-reconciliation chain is proven in an emulator, including a deterministic 6 MiB file. A real-camera pass on the Z Fold 6 and the physical iPhone path remain release gates. The first cohort will begin with shadow inspections beside an inspector's existing system.
What does safe mean?
Safe is a verified state, not a green icon after an upload request. FieldProof compares the device hash, the server-observed hash, and the stored-object hash. A photo remains pending until the stored bytes reconcile.
Does FieldProof replace my camera roll?
The inspection workflow captures directly into the job and keeps every shot tied to its section, rating, finding, and sync state. The physical-device cohort will prove how that behaves through dead zones, backgrounding, and process death before we call it field-ready.
What is the No-Fixle Covenant?
It is FieldProof's written promise that the client report will not carry ads, insurance offers, warranty pitches, referral links, or sold client data. The inspector's report remains the inspector's work.
Can I take my records with me?
The beta exports inspections, ratings, findings, the comment library, and a photo manifest as JSON. A portable private-image and template archive is a gate before paid availability, with no offboarding fee.
Who is the first cohort for?
Independent US and Canadian home inspectors who can run a few shadow inspections, challenge the offline capture path, and judge whether the report sounds like their own professional voice.
